Designed a seamless and transparent staking experience for BTC holders on the pSTAKE platform. The goal was to simplify complex blockchain mechanics - confirmations, maturity periods, and withdrawals - into a guided, intuitive flow that builds user trust and reduces friction.

Context & Challenge

Problem: Bitcoin staking introduced new possibilities for yield, but also new user friction . Unlike typical staking, BTC confirmations take longer, addresses differ by protocol, and withdrawal rules are time-locked - leading to uncertainty for users trying to onboard. Goal: To design an onboarding and transaction flow that simplifies complexity, builds trust, and communicates technical states transparently - without sacrificing accuracy or security.

Design Process

Our process focused on transforming a complex BTC staking flow into a simple, transparent experience. Working closely with pSTAKE’s product and engineering teams, we mapped blockchain mechanics to user expectations, making confirmations, withdrawals, and transactions easier to follow. Through user flow audits and competitive analysis , we identified friction points that caused confusion and drop-offs. The information architecture was then restructured into a clear, step-by-step staking journey , with real-time status tracking, inline validation, and error handling built in. Finally, the visual layer emphasized trust and legibility — light layouts, subtle animations, and clear feedback — creating a seamless experience that combines technical precision with user confidence. Simplifying complex staking flows through clarity and trust.

Design Execution

1. Research & Alignment Collaborated with backend and protocol teams to map blockchain logic to user expectations. Studied staking flows from existing DeFi platforms to identify gaps in user comprehension and transaction confidence. 2. Information Architecture Created a stepwise flow that surfaces information when it matters most — avoiding cognitive overload while keeping users informed at each stage (Deposit → Confirm → Stake → Withdraw). 3. Wireframing & Validation Explored layouts for BTC-specific constraints: long confirmation times, address validation, and maturity status. Iterated on edge-case handling — invalid addresses, pending transactions, double confirmations. 4. Visual Design & Prototyping Used pSTAKE’s updated light-themed UI system for better readability and trust perception. Integrated dynamic status states and animations to reflect transaction progress visually. Invite-only testnet access minimized spam and built community exclusivity. Wallet Manager included format validation and contextual onboarding cues, doubling first-try wallet connections. Dashboard redesign introduced live sync timestamps, color-coded statuses, and grouped pending vs. completed transactions. Trust cues like Babylon protocol attribution built confidence for early adopters.

Showcase (Visual Layer)

Visual Gallery Flow (suggested layout): Wireframe Snapshot - “Mapping BTC staking user states.” Final UI Screens - Deposit, Confirm, Withdraw, Pending views. Microinteraction Mockups - Success state animations, tooltips, error handling. Mobile Context View (optional) - Responsive card layout for wallet flow.

Impact

Measured Outcomes: $35M+ BTC staked within first month of mainnet integration. 2× increase in successful wallet connections after simplifying setup. 40% reduction in user support tickets related to staking delays. Qualitative Outcomes: Users reported higher confidence during transaction waiting periods. Internal teams used the updated UI flow as the foundation for multi-chain staking modules.
